What is Meditation
The most common and effective form of meditation is known as Mindfulness Meditation. This is summarised to when you focus on one thing and you let everything else just slip away. The goal is to try and stop your mind from wandering until you are affixed in the present moment.
Often to achieve this, breath is used as a focus point to calm your body and mind. You have to make sure you follow each inhale and exhale as your body clears stress from itself.
This must be done while solely focusing on it, otherwise the exercise won’t be effective. If a stray thought arises, you must recognise it and clear it until you are once again completely and solely aware of your focus point. This can really be anything from a mantra to just a calming image, but breathing is often used as it is a consistent action which can be helpful, as a thoughts can be temporary which makes us lose focus on things in life.
